It’s taken many weeks, but I’ve finally packed up my apartment. Or as my friends like to call it, the Bachelorette Pad. We had our fair share of fun in this place, long wine-filled nights on the patio, sleepovers and trips to my neighborhood crêpe place. I will miss my little pad, but I’m very excited for what’s next. S and I officially signed the lease together on a new apartment for August!
While packing, I realized that I hadn’t documented my first apartment, so here it is! I think I channeled my love of all things Paris and chic. I’m thinking I’ll be able to sneak it in here and there in our new place.
I used a mix of new and refurbished furniture. I treated myself to a new bed that was exactly what I imagined– it’s a textured iron finish and fit perfectly with the decor. For my dresser and nightstand, I found a set on Craigslist and refurbished them one summer. To say it was a lot of work would be an understatement. I peeled years and years worth of old paint off, but when they were done I felt pretty darn accomplished.
So as I say goodbye to this cozy space, I’m ready to design (with the help of my newly-graduated designer sister) something new. I think it’ll be a nice blend of mine and S’s styles! On a few of our recent trips we’ve picked up some things that we already want to incorporate into it.
Here’s a sneak peak at our new place! This is the model apartment (photos courtesy of Mews) and the layout is a bit different than ours. But seriously, that kitchen!! I’m so excited to call it mine 🙂
My first thought when we walked in was, so much light!! My first apartment was fairly dark except for a few hours in the afternoon. I am someone who craves natural light!
