I took a quick trip this weekend (literally less than 36 hours including travel time) to Philly to spend a few days with my best friend from college. It was necessary for so many reasons! She finished her 2L finals Friday and I hopped on a plane early Saturday morning. Since I was only in the city for a short time and she lives a distance outside the city, my boyfriend surprised her and I with a hotel for the night. How amazing is he?!

When I arrived Saturday we threw our bags in the hotel, too early to even check in, and went straight out to explore. We stopped at an amazing coffee spot, La Colombe right near City Hall. Refueled from an early morning of travel, we walked down to the shopping district, picked up a few essentials and got our nails done.

Walking around the city in the most beautiful weather!

From there we grabbed a drink and a bite to eat with a view at XIX Nineteen the bar on the 42nd floor of the Hyatt. The views were absolutely spectacular! And the Rosé was delicious!

Sunday we squeezed in brunch at Parc, a beautiful café that was straight out of Paris. Eating on the sidewalk overlooking Rittenhouse Square, we ended our whirlwind weekend with good food and conversation.

As only the two of us can, we managed to pack in so much into such a short period of time. Since she moved from Boston two years ago, we’ve spent only a fraction of the time we used to together. This mini-vacation was perfect and exhibited exactly the type of friendship we have! We’re spontaneous and sometimes combustable together (read: a few glasses of rosé and we were convinced that we deserved to have our hair done before dinner). It’s so good to know that we can have our adventures wherever and whenever– it’s nice to have a forever friend!
