I was fortunate to tag along on a trip to Colorado in October. I visited the Southwest a lot growing up because my grandparents relocated to New Mexico when I was two. Colorado was technically a state I’d visited (if you count putting a hand in the state at Four Corners Monument), but I was excited to explore.

We packed a lot into our three day trip—exploring, eating and hiking (well, an attempt to hike). Here are some of the highlights…

It’s tradition to start the trip at Legal C Bar at Logan.

Managed to (almost) finish my book. This is a good read if you liked J.K. Rowling’s first book “The Cuckoo’s Calling”.

Horsetooth Mountain Park—Fort Collins, CO

Mainline Ale House for dinner—outdoor seating in October, I’ll never complain!

We attempted to hike in Estes Park, but the snow (read: blizzard) and our lack of cold weather gear deterred us. A trip to the Stanley Hotel was a good alternative.

Back to eating—we visited Snooze Eatery for breakfast each day (also a tradition).
